Challenge

George’s Café, “A Slice of New York in Dhaka” is one of the most popular and loved coffee shops in Dhaka. The first outlet in Uttara, Dhaka was very popular among a wide range of loyal patrons. Riding on the success of the first outlet, George's Cafe recently opened two more outlets in Dhanmondi and Banani areas respectively but sales did not go up as anticipated. Boomerang Digital came to the rescue to drum up sales across all the George's Cafe outlets.

Process

Content Strategy

We shot a series of quirky, short, and supremely appetizing video clips to highlight and showcase the various mouth-watering and delicious treats from the George's Cafe menu like the rich and creamy Oreo Cheesecake, exquisite Chocolate Tart, exotic Banana Pie, and sumptuous Lunch Platter among others.

A lot of effort and attention-to-detail were given while shooting the videos so that they resonate with our current and would-be customers. The short, playful videos highlighted the variety of amazing food items and teased the viewers into involuntarily salivating all over the screen! Also we found that the desserts in particular were all the rage and we tapped into that hype by mostly highlighting the sweet treats in our videos. All in all, we were delighted to see the warm and exuberant reaction from our target audience.

Media Planning

George's Cafe’s Facebook page had great content but were somewhat lacking in terms of video content and we figured the page could do with a bit more hustle and bustle movement on their Facebook page. Especially because video content is becoming more and more relevant and prevalent in the current global scenario.

For marketing these short videos we chose Facebook as our preferred social media platform rather than YouTube. YouTube can be expensive and tracking engagement is difficult compared to Facebook. As we had a budget of 200 USD for online media buying therefore we opted for Facebook as we wanted to maximize our mileage.

Results

The videos were viewed in excess of 200,000 times across the Facebook page and also resulted in significant increase in engagement and sales. Some of the items featured in our videos such as the Milk Shot, Oreo Cheesecake and Chocolate Tart were sold out for the next 10 days. Subsequently George's Cafe experienced a significant 37% increase in overall sales across all outlets.
